Cooler start to the week with daily rain and storm chances. Warmer by the weekend.

This first Monday of August is off to a gloomy and cool start. Clouds stick around for much of today for the majority of the viewing area. Highs this afternoon will only reach the upper 70s for some, mainly around and east of I-65, while folks out west may see more sunshine and highs in the mid 80s. Pop-up showers along with an occasional light, gloomy mist will be around for the rest of the afternoon. Tonight, as showers dissipate, lows will get down into the mid 60s as clouds stick around.

Isolated thundershowers are in the forecast for the next several afternoons. Hit-or-miss in nature, not everyone will see rain every day. If you have outdoor plans, just monitor the sky and the radar and you should be good to go. As we get deeper into the week, however, we will greadually heat back up into the upper 80s for highs.

While yes, we do have daily rain chances, those chances remain pretty low each day. You probably won’t see rain every day, but by the end of the week, you will probably have encountered a few showers and storms. Enjoy the cooler start to the week, because the 90s are back this weekend.
