Some Strong Storms Possible Tomorrow Afternoon and Evening…Cold Start to Next Week!

Good Thursday morning! Another fantastic day is in store weather wise across the area with a lot of sunshine and highs back into the lower and middle 70s! Get outside and enjoy it if you can because there will be some big changes coming our way this weekend. For this evening, just some passing clouds are expected with temperatures dropping into the mid and upper 50s. Overnight our lows will drop into the upper 40s and lower 50s.

For tomorrow, our focus will be on a front moving in bringing the chance at some stronger storms. While our overall severe weather risk is rather low, an isolated severe storm will be possible. Main concern will be from strong to potentially damaging winds 40-60mph and some small hail. However, an isolated brief tornado cannot be ruled out. Our main timeframe for storms will be from 3pm-10pm. Stay weather aware and have ways to get warnings in case they are needed!

Behind the front, our temperatures will not cool off much, with more lower 70s expected on Saturday once again. A few showers and storms will be possible but the overall strong to severe storm risk for Saturday is very low. Another front will move in on Sunday, however, which will bring a BIG change to the area! Highs on Sunday will be in the mid 50s but much colder air will filter in on Monday when some places might struggle to get out of the 30s! There could be a few light flurries on Monday but we do not anticipate any issues. The main issue would be the cold air and wind chills in the 20s during the day with breezy northwesterly winds.

We will have our first widespread freeze with lows in the 20s both Monday and Tuesday mornings. Be sure to bring inside any sensitive plants!

Have a great Thursday!
