Sam, known affectionately as “Crash” by his colleagues, is currently attending the University of North Alabama in Florence, majoring in Business/Professional Management and the lead media manager for the North Alabama Band program. Despite being early in his academic journey, Sam is already making his mark in media as a National Photojournalist for Getty Images, National Multimedia Journalist for Live Storms Media, and a Broadcast Producer and Sports Content Producer for our sister station, The X Sports Network, as well as being a photographer in the 2025 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
With a strong passion for weather and field journalism/photojournalism, Sam plans to pursue further studies in Broadcast Meteorology and Journalism through Mississippi State University after completing his undergraduate degree at UNA.
Outside the studio, Sam keeps life exciting. You’ll often find him playing tennis or pickleball with friends, attending church activities, or capturing the world through his camera lens. Whether he’s playing music, tracking storms, squeezing in a few levels of Candy Crush, or working on his vehicle, Sam brings energy and enthusiasm to everything he does.
Oh, and if you can’t find him? He’s probably at Buc-ee’s or the nearest tennis court.
