First week of March will feel like spring in the Tennessee Valley

For those of you who have been waiting for warmer temperatures- this week is your week! Yes, we have some rain and storm chances to talk about, but consistently warm afternoons are here to stay for at least the 7 day forecast.

Light spotty showers will be passing through throughout the day, but shouldn’t be much of a bother. Otherwise, clouds hang around with not much sunshine, aside from a few breaks in the clouds. Temps will be comfortable today, with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s, despite the lack of sunshine. Clouds hang around tonight, but we should stay dry, with lows in the mid 50s.

Tuesday and Wednesday clouds will be around but the sun will be out at times. Both days hold a chance for a stray shower, otherwise things should stay mostly dry. I think rain stays west Wednesday, but is certainly inching closer to bring in rain chances Thursday. Thursday features a chance for a few pop-up thundershowers but it’s not looking like a washout of a day. Friday features just a few rain showers across the Tennessee Valley.

Now let’s get to these temperatures. Can you believe today’s afternoon high is the coolest out of the next 7 days? By Thursday, the whole viewing area will reach the lower 80s! Yes, that comes with the increase in rain chances, but things are still looking ok. Nothing like a real spring feeling first week of March!

This weekend features scattered thunderstorm chances across the Tennessee Valley. As of now nothing is looking strong or severe, but it is March and it is severe weather season, so we are watching each system very closely and will let you know if anything changes.
