Cool start to the week. Thunderstorm chance Thursday. Otherwise, relatively calm.

Well, after last week the phrase “calm weather” is just about the best thing we could tell you. And, it’s true! This week features mostly calm conditions, outside of scattered thunderstorms Thursday. Let’s talk all things weather for the week ahead!

As clouds eventually move out today, and we stay dry after a few pesky light sprinkles earlier this morning. We may see some sun this afternoon with a breeze out of the NW, and a gradually clearing sky. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with lows getting down into the mid 30s after highs in the upper 50s. Tuesday is looking wonderful, just a little chilly. Frost is possible Tuesday night across the region!

Wednesday will start off cold, with morning temperatures in the lower 30. By afternoon, we will reach the mid 60s, so another pleasant day is in store. Our next weathermaker will stay to the north for much of the day, leaving us mostly sunny once again. Clouds will move in overnight, with a few showers moving in by early Thursday morning.

By Thursday afternoon, scattered thunderstorms are expected to move in to the Tennessee Valley as the cold front approaches. The good news- I am not seeing any signs for severe thunderstorms at this time. Phew! That system moves out Thursday night, setting us up for a calm weekend.

I am ecstatic about our singular day that features a thunderstorm chance. All other days this week will be quite pleasant. As we are off to a cool start, warmer temperatures are just ahead in the coming days. Enjoy this nice “break” this week, we all sure deserve it.
