We have much mor sunshine in store today, let’s make it a great Tuesday! We are chilly, with highs only reaching the 50s this afternoon with a light breeze out of the north. A clear sky will continue this evening and tonight, allowing temperatures to get down into the low 30s, and maybe even into the upper 20s for some spots in southern middle Tennessee. With a light wind, frost is expected overnight!

Wednesday is looking fantastic, with a mostly sunny sky and high temperatures in the mid 60s. Our next storm system will remain well to our north Wednesday, but we will see clouds from the approaching cold front by Wednesday overnight. We could see a few spotty morning showers, if not just an overcast sky. Highs Wednesday will be in the lower 70s, before scattered showers and thunderstorms develop and move through the area. The cold front will exit the Tennessee Valley by Friday morning, simply leaving us with leftover cloud cover and maybe a lingering shower or two in the morning on Friday.

The Storm Prediction Center has the entire Tennessee Valley viewing area in a level 1/5 risk for severe weather Thursday. Before you say “oh, here we go again” I have some good news. This looks to be a low-end type threat and I’m not seeing a tornado threat. At worst, I’m seeing isolated gusty winds and an isolated hail threat. While there is a good chance at our viewing area seeing thunderstorms Thursday, there is a low chance of those storms becoming severe. We are here to keep you updated!

Thursday is really our only rain chance over the next several days, aside from a stray overnight shower Wednesday night, and a stray leftover shower Friday morning. Temperatures warm up leading up to the thunderstorm chance, and the cold front will just cool us off slightly. Nothing too dramatic. This weekend is looking rain-free, storm-free and PLEASANT! It seems like this is going to be the first nice weekend we have had in a while! I’m looking forward to it.
