Today is Veterans Day and I would like to take a moment to thank every veteran for serving this incredible nation. Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed. If you have plans this afternoon, we are looking rain free with a little bit of a breeze. Temperatures will be comfortable for most, and a little chilly for some especially closer to sunset.
Expect a mostly clear sky tonight as temperatures fall into the mid 40s, which will be a chillier overnight compared to the last several nights. A northeast breeze will stay with us through Tuesday, which will prohibit temperatures from reaching anything warmer than the mid 60s during the afternoon. Expect lower 60s for our Tennessee Counties, and low to mid 60s for NW AL & NE MS. Tuesday will be dry with a mostly sunny sky as we briefly reap the benefits of high pressure.
Cloud cover will begin to increase Wednesday morning ahead of our next weathermaker- a cold front. We are expecting mostly rain out of this system, with very low levels of instability we may only hear a few rumbles of thunder here and there. Rain moves in by Wednesday late afternoon to early evening, and will continue overnight with a few lingering showers into Thursday morning. This won’t be a super-soaker event by any means but any rainfall will help our deficit! We could see up to about half an inch of rain area wide, some may see more, some may see less. We’ll iron out those specifics soon.
Good news for the weekend forecast- that cold front moves out and high pressure moves in right in time for the weekend! Now, it will be a bit chilly this weekend. But hey…it should be! It’s mid November. Aside from our mid-week rain chance, the next 7 days aren’t looking too bad. We won’t have any significant temperature changes and no severe weather is expected.
