Cold front brings rain & storms tonight. Much cooler air behind the front.

What a lovely spring day we are having in mid-November! We are warm and a little muggy with afternoon highs in the mid 70s. Most of today will be dry, until rain & storms from an approaching cold front move in closer to midnight, with a few lighter showers as early as 10pm. Overnight you can expect mostly rain with a few rumbles of thunder. We may see a few thunderstorms after sunrise especially in North Alabama as the front is exiting the area. Rain should be out of our TN counties by mid-morning, and should be out of Alabama counties by early afternoon.

It may be breezy at times overnight with 20-25mph gusts, and the cooler air behind the cold front doesn’t make it to the TN valley until Tuesday night. Tuesday afternoon temps will be in the upper 60s, with lows Tuesday night in the upper 40s. The rest of the week will be completely dry, but then comes the colder air. Highs Wednesday and Thursday will only reach the lower 50s, with lows around or just below freezing Wednesday night through Saturday night. Expect a cool chill in the air, especially Wednesday, with gusts up to 25mph! Wind chills could be as cool as the lower 20s overnight later this week.

For the rest of the week, we just have chilly temps to worry about. High pressure remains nearby and we will be rain free through the weekend!
