Pleasant next few days. Late week warm-up ahead of rain & cooler temps.

It’s not a bad start to the week across the Tennessee Valley! The sun is working to melt any leftover snow and we are already much warmer than expected today. Expect a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day, with a mostly clear to clear sky tonight. Due to the clear sky overnight, temperatures will get down into the upper teens.

High pressure is in charge of our weather here locally for the next several days. It will keep rain and cloud cover away, with just a few clouds around from time to time. We remain dry through much of Friday, until our next rain maker moves in to the Tennessee Valley. We are forecasting rain showers as early as before daybreak Saturday, with some lingering showers Saturday night before temperatures cool off below 32°. We will be watching for any leftover moisture Sunday as temperatures are close to freezing, but right now we do not have any sort of wintry precip in our forecast.

What we do have in our forecast, is a temperature roller coaster. We warm up towards the end of the work week, getting back into the lower 50s Friday and mid-50s Saturday. Those above-average temperatures will be short lived, and we will see yet another blast of cold air infiltrate the Tennessee Valley. The Climate Prediction Center predicts a pretty good chance of below average temps heading into the second half of the weekend and beyond. That’s our consensus as well.

Enjoy a pleasant stretch of days this week until things take a gloomy turn this weekend. The warmer temps will not last very long, and will quickly be replaced by much colder air. Again, at this time we do not have any wintry precip in our forecast. We will keep you updated!
