Weather looks pretty decent for your Christmas here in the Tennessee Valley. After highs in the mid to upper 50s and plenty of sunshine today, we expect mostly clear skies tonight for Santa’s visit. Temperatures by the evening will drop into the 40s, and then head slowly down toward the mid 30s by daybreak on your Christmas Day. Partly sunny skies will be in place for Christmas, with about a 10% chance of an afternoon to overnight shower. Highs for Christmas will once again be between 55 and 60 in the early afternoon.
Rain chances begin to increase on Friday, and then really go up Saturday afternoon and Saturday night as a more organized system brings heavy rain and thunderstorms. We don’t currently expect severe storms to be an issue locally, but we will be watching in case instability tries to creep northward to change that. Daytime highs the next seven days will be ranging from the mid 50s today to the mid 60s by the weekend. After 30s tonight, overnight lows rebound into the upper 40s to low/mid 50s as we end the week.
