Happy Friday! Our cold front has arrived and slightly cooler air will continue to filter in today and over the weekend which will bring an end to our oppressive heat this week. With the frontal passage, showers and storms will develop later on today but the majority of the activity will likely remain south of the AL/TN state line. Some of the storms could be on the strong side with gusty winds, frequent lightning, and very heavy rain. The overall severe threat today is very low.
This evening, a very pleasant one is expected with temperatures dropping into the mid to upper 60s to around 70 for lows.

For the weekend, highs will remain in the 80s but on Sunday and possibly evening Monday, parts of Northeastern Alabama could be much cooler with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 thanks to a cold air wedge coming in from the east. Showers and storms will remain on the board both days but Saturday will likely feature less activity as the front will be well south of the area.

Going into next week, we will start to warm back up some with more upper 80s to around 90 expected for highs on Wednesday and Thursday. Daily shower and storm chances continue but on a scattered basis and not overly widespread. Unfortunately, that still means a lot of you will have to water the lawn over the coming week with the lack of widespread rainfall.

Have a great Friday and weekend!
