Good Thursday morning! We have one last hot day today before our cold front moves in and brings us some relief from the oppressive heat. Highs will be in the mid 90s for most areas with heat index values around 100-106. Be sure to take those heat precautions once again! We will have some scattered showers and storms that develop this afternoon and evening but some places will just remain hot and rain-free. This evening, any shower and storm activity should die off before midnight, however, cannot rule out a stray shower during the overnight period. Lows will once again be in the mid 70s.

For your Friday, slightly higher rain and storm chances are in the forecast as that cold front moves on in. Scattered showers and storms should start to develop around midday and last into the evening hours. With more cloud cover around, highs will only be in the mid to upper 80s.

The cooler air will continue across the area for the weekend, with Sunday potentially being a very cool day for some! Depending on how the setup plays out, there could be a cold air wedge that develops down the Appalachians where Northeastern Alabama could be in the upper 70s to near 80 for highs Sunday while places further west are in the mid 80s. Fingers crossed that ends up being the case!
There will be showers and storms both Saturday and Sunday, with the best shot on Sunday with that wedge front potentially moving in.

The 80s continue into Monday and Tuesday before everyone gets back into the lower 90s on Wednesday. Rain chances will continue to be mostly isolated going into the middle of next week.
Have a great Thursday!
