Good Thursday afternoon! Another hot day is on tap with highs back in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Skies will be partly cloudy and while there could be a stray shower or two, we should be mostly dry again. This evening, temps fall through the 70s early on and eventually down into the 60s overnight.

For tomorrow, we do expect showers and storms to track on through, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. Some of the Friday night football games could be impacted so if you plan on going to one, bring the rain gear just in case. We don’t expect any severe weather, but there could be a stronger storm with gusty winds and frequent lightning. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s once again.

More rain and storms are expected on Saturday with the passage of a cold front, however, it does appear the best chance for rain and even heavy rain will be off to our south. That unfortunately doesn’t help out our drought that has really been increasing over the past few weeks. We now have a SEVERE drought for most of us across Southern Tennessee, with a few EXTREME drought areas over across Hardin and Wayne counties. Most of North Alabama is under a MODERATE drought. While this weekend will likely not bring much beneficial rain, there are some signs that we could have a wave in the Gulf develop and move north into our area next weekend. Hopefully that pans out.

As for the rest of your forecast, behind that front this weekend, more Fall like weather moves in next week with highs in the 70s and lows down in the 50s!
Have a great Thursday!
