Some Strong Storms Possible This Afternoon and Evening…Much Colder Weather Early Next Week!

Happy Friday! We will be watching the radar closely later on today as we do have a threat for some strong, perhaps severe storms this afternoon and evening. While we do not anticipate this to be a big time severe weather event, there could be a few storms that get a little rough. Our main concern is gusty to damaging winds around 45-60mph and some hail around quarter size. However, there is enough wind shear in the lower levels that an isolated tornado or two could be possible, but it is not overly likely. Just something we will have to keep a close eye on.

The main window of opportunity for stronger storms will be from about 4pm to midnight, although the better odds will be during the evening hours. Have ways to get warnings in case they are needed!

Going into tomorrow, we stay warm with highs in the 70s once again and there could be some isolated to scattered showers around, perhaps a storm. No strong or severe storms are expected. On Sunday, we will see another front move on in and that one will bring us some much colder air! Highs on Sunday will be in the 50s but on Monday, highs will likely not get out of the 30s! With breezy winds out of the northwest, wind chills will likely be in the 20s during the day. There could also be some flurries around but we do not anticipate accumulations that cause impacts. You might get a dusting on your car or outdoor objects if there is a quick burst of some snow, but that’s about it.

Beyond Monday, we will see another nice stretch of dry weather and our highs will rebound back into the lower 60s by Wednesday and Thursday.

Have a great Friday and weekend!
