It is a fantastic start to the week here in the Tennessee Valley. The sun is shining and we are feeling good out there! Temps in the low 60s this afternoon should feel nothing short of fantastic after the bitter cold from last week. We stay mostly clear for the rest of today and tonight, with temperatures getting down into the upper 30s overnight. There may be some patchy fog overnight in North Alabama. Tuesday will be even warmer than today, with highs pushing 70° for some, upper 60s for the rest of us. Expect another mostly sunny sky that will stay clear through Wednesday morning. Some patchy fog may develop Tuesday night as well.

A cold front will bring us our next rain chance here in the Tennessee Valley. Don’t expect much, though. Rain will move in after midnight with showers overnight, especially early Thursday morning. This will be a light to moderate rain event, as the front does not have an incredible amount of moisture to work with. We are also lacking in the instability department, so it will be hard to even get any thunder out of this system. We’ll keep you updated, but it’s simply looking like a rainy, gloomy Thursday morning. Rain moves out by the afternoon, although cloud cover may hang on a bit longer. The cold front will also knock temperatures back in to the 50s.

Wednesday night into Thursday is our only rain chance on the board for the rest of the week. It’s a much-welcomed break from a very active pattern we had last week. Enjoy warm temperatures to start the week! The post-frontal cool down won’t be too dramatic, but will be something you notice. Have a wonderful week!
