Good news for me and all of my fellow warmer weather lovers- this week’s temperatures are looking nice! We have a late week rain & storm chance, but until then, things will be quite pleasant across the Tennessee Valley. Highs this afternoon will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s as the sky continues to clear out to make conditions mostly sunny to mostly clear overnight. Temperatures will get down into the mid to upper 20s tonight.

Tuesday, although we will be off to a chilly start, is looking like a pretty nice late January day. Expect plenty of sunshine, and highs in the mid to upper 50s. No complaints from me! A calm Tuesday night is ahead, as temperatures cool off into the mid 30s overnight.
Clouds increase Wednesday as we await our next rain chance here in the Tennessee Valley. Wednesday will remain dry. We may see a few light showers during the first half of Thursday as clouds continue to move in. The best chance for rain & a few embedded thunderstorms will be Thursday evening and overnight. We’ll be able to get a bit more specific with the timing soon! We also do not expect any severe thunderstorms with this system, just your typical rain, thunder and lightning. The ingredients we look for simply are not there. We will likely increase rain chances for Thursday night as we get closer, as well. As far as Friday is concerned, we will just be stuck with some leftover cloud cover and on and off showers, especially during the first half of the day.

The thing with Thursday night’s cold frontal system is that we don’t really cool off all that much. We will be able to notice a slight cool down and less humidity in the air. Temperatures look to stay on the warm side for the weekend and even into next week. Right now, the weekend is looking dry. I’m already looking forward to it!
