I hope you have been enjoying today’s warmer temps! We’ve got winds gusting in from the south, ushering in that warmer air. Hardin Co. & Tishomingo Co. are under a Wind Advisory tonight with gusts up to 40 mph possible. Everyone else in the TN Valley can expect gusts up to 30 mph.
Light rain showers will move in after 7 p.m. Rainfall will increase in intensity as the evening goes on, and don’t let a rumble of thunder or two catch you off guard. Yes, this is about to be perfect sleeping weather. Showers will eventually taper off by mid-morning Friday, with afternoon sunshine and temps reaching the mid to upper 60s.
After a brief break from the rain Friday afternoon, we get another dose of overnight rain by nighttime. Showers and a few storms will move through the TN Valley Friday night into Saturday morning. Coverage looks scattered to widespread – as far as rain showers go. This system will move out by late Saturday afternoon.
While drought conditions have slightly alleviated across the TN Valley, we are still very much in a drought. I am hopeful that tonight’s and Friday night’s rain will help us out even more. Models are showing anywhere from half an inch of rain to an inch of rain by Sunday morning. We’ll take it!
After Sunday, we will be dry across the region with plenty of sunshine. We just have to get through the next few gloomy days. Temps will be in the 60s through Sunday, before falling to the upper 50s Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday we likely won’t get out of the upper 40s. We’ll have to watch moisture and temps by the middle of text week. Nothing substantial. I’m not saying anything yet, but I will say we’re keeping an eye out (:
