Quiet and calm next few days. Rain moves in this weekend.

It seems like it has been a while since we’ve been able to describe our weather pattern as “calm” but all nice things eventually come to an end. We do have a few more rain-free days until rain moves in to the Tennessee Valley, and temps will be nice so spend some time outside the next few days! Today is a bit colder thanks to a northerly wind, we’ll be in the 40s and lower 50s this afternoon as cloud cover continues to break away.

Clouds will continue to clear out this evening, and patchy fog may develop in some areas. I don’t see fog being a widespread issue tonight. Temperatures will drop into the upper 20s to lower 30s, with an otherwise mainly clear sky.

We stay dry for the next few days, and that will take us into the first half of the weekend. Thursday expect dry conditions, a mostly sunny sky, and temperatures in the mid to upper 50s, and even some lower 60s in northwest Alabama. We will have even warmer temperatures by Friday, 60s for everyone! Friday will be a gorgeous, warm February day so be sure to enjoy it. Saturday will be more of the same, before rain arrives Sunday.

We’ll reach the 60s again Saturday afternoon before cloud cover moves in and thickens up, ahead of our next rain-maker. While we could see some overnight rain Saturday into Sunday, models are now trending the start time for the rain to be Sunday morning. We will update our forecast accordingly as we see trends continue. Rain will be around for Sunday and Monday, with Sunday being the wettest day. This doesn’t look to be a ‘super soaker’ but it will make for a gloomy Sunday. The heaviest rainfall looks to move in late morning to afternoon.

The next few days will be gorgeous, especially given the time of year. Spend some time outdoors and enjoy the warm temps and sunshine! We will likely increase high temperatures in our forecast for the next few days, so stay tuned. We’ll also keep you updated on when we expect rain to start this weekend.
