Quiet for a few days before weekend thunderstorms.

After a stormy Memorial Day weekend, we’ve got a short-term quiet weather pattern in store for the Tennessee Valley. This afternoon will be quite pleasant, with a mix of sun and clouds, highs in the mid 80s, and no rain chance. Dewpoints are in the low 60s today, so it’s a little humid today but nothing too intense. Expect a quiet evening and overnight, with a partly cloudy to mostly clear sky, with lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Wednesday will be mostly quiet as well. Some models show a few very small pop-up showers, but we’re holding our forecast as dry for Wednesday for now. Just know if there is any change to Wednesday’s forecast, it would just be an addition of a stray shower chance. You’ll notice Wednesday will feel a lot more comfortable outside, with dewpoints dropping back into the 50s! It’ll be a nice change of pace for the end of May. . Most models have rain missing our area Thursday, but with it being a little too close for comfort, we’ve added a stray shower chance for Thursday. Friday also holds a stray rain/storm chance until our next system arrives Friday night, and will keep our weather pattern unsettled through the weekend. Humidity will creep back up, as well. At this time severe weather is not a concern with weekend thunderstorms. We will let you know if anything changes. If you’re planning something outdoors this weekend, consider a back-up plan.

Although we have a stormy weekend ahead of us, at least we got to enjoy a nice day yesterday, and we will enjoy a few more nice days before we flip the switch to thunderstorms. Wednesday will feel quite refreshing before we re-introduce storms to the forecast.
