Today through the end of the week, rainy weather can be expected. Parts of today are expected to be dry, but rain chances jump up after today. Due to the lower rain chances, today looks like the best day to make plans. If you intend to venture outside this weekend, you should bring your raincoat because it is likely to rain and storm. The likelihood of showers and storms continues into the coming week but is less likely than it was over the weekend.
Dry weather and partly cloudy skies made for a pleasant start to the day. You will not need to change your outdoor plans today because the majority of the day looks dry; however, be prepared by bringing an umbrella and making plans to move indoors in case you encounter one of these storms. Although Northern Alabama will also experience rain, it appears that Middle Tennessee will have the highest likelihood of these storms. Highs in the lower 90s and lows in the lower 70s are expected, along with the chance of rain. Tonight temperatures are expected to drop to the lower 70s and a few showers may continue through the night.
Moving on to Thursday, if you intend to be outside, pack your rain gear as scattered showers and thunderstorms are predicted to occur throughout the day. Compared to the first half of this week, these storms are more likely. On Thursday, temperatures will be comparable to those on Wednesday. Heading into Friday, there will still be a chance of rain and storms, but they should be a little less likely than they were on Thursday. Other than the rain chances, temperatures will reach highs in the lower 90s. Do not let the wet weather ruin your week; you can still have fun by watching a good movie and popping some popcorn inside. Overnight lows are expected in the low-to-mid 70s Friday night, and a few showers may linger.
Rainfall and storm activity will continue into the weekend and increase from Friday. Throughout the day on Saturday, showers and thunderstorms are predicted. It does not appear to be the ideal day for plans outdoors, so if you must go outside, remember to bring your umbrella. Aside from the rain chances, highs in the lower 90s and lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s can be expected. Although there will be a slight reduction in the likelihood of rain on Sunday, showers and thunderstorms are still expected. Additionally, the highs will be lower, in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Lows Sunday night will be in the mid-70s with a continuation of showers and storms.
On Monday of next week, there is a chance of showers and storms, but the likelihood is much lower than it was over the weekend. At this time, Middle Tennessee appears to be where most of Monday’s rain will fall, but both Middle Tennessee and Northern Alabama can expect rain. On Monday, highs are expected to reach the lower 90s. Monday night, there will be a higher chance of showers and storms and lows in the 60s and 70s.
With the exception of a very slim chance for sporadic showers, it looks mostly dry on Tuesday, giving us some relief from the rain. Partially cloudy skies are predicted, with a high temperature in the low to mid-90s. Soak up the sunshine and spend some time outdoors. Lows on Tuesday night are predicted to be in the low to mid-70s, and a few brief pop-up showers are possible.
Today appears to be the driest day for the remainder of this week. After today, there will be a greater likelihood of rain, which will persist through the weekend. Currently, Friday seems to be the best day to make plans for this weekend due to slightly lower rain chances; however, showers and storms are also likely on that day, so if you make plans for Friday, you should definitely bring an umbrella. Rain chances will persist into the coming week, but they seem to be significantly lower than they were over the weekend.
