Warm and mainly dry this week. Monitoring storm chances, but looking slim.

It’s been a lovely afternoon so far, as lovely a Monday in late July in the south can be at least! High pressure is nearby, keeping us dry today and for the next few days. Temps this afternoon are in the upper 80s, but when you look up you’re seeing plenty of blue sky with a few clouds here and there.

Cloud cover will pick up slightly this evening, as a dying line of storms approaches the Tennessee Valley. Don’t worry- we stay dry and it fizzles out before arriving in our viewing area. Expect a partly cloudy overnight with lows in the upper 60s. Tomorrow we will have a partly cloudy sky overhead with afternoon temps slightly warmer, into the lower 90s. We stay dry again, aside from a very stray rain chance. The same goes for Wednesday, as well!

Thankfully, there really isn’t much to the forecast this week. Last week was stormy day after stormy day. Outdoor plans, yard work or car washes have the green light this week. If you plan to work outside, though, remember to take heat precautions. Temps will gradually increase into the mid 90s for highs by the end of the week and into the weekend! Heat index values stay in the upper 90s until they increase to triple digits by the weekend.
