The central subtropical Atlantic system southeast of Bermuda holds steady at a 30 percent chance through 7 days, and the NHC has now designated it AL95 as it drifts northwestward before accelerating north early this week.

The eastern tropical Atlantic wave moving off Africa Monday remains the one to watch, with the 7-day odds now at 50 percent as conditions look marginally favorable for a tropical depression to form by mid to late week.

A strong thunderstorm is approaching Collinwood, Cypress Inn, and Iron City in Wayne County, packing wind gusts up to 40 mph and half-inch hail. The storm was located about 9 miles south of Collinwood just before 8:30 tonight, moving southeast at 35 mph. Expect gusty winds capable of bringing down tree limbs along with minor hail damage to vegetation as this moves through the area.
