The National Hurricane Center has significantly raised development odds on a system southeast of Bermuda, now at 50 percent through both 48 hours and 7 days, up from 20 and 30 percent this morning. This low is slowly getting better organized and could become a short-lived tropical depression or storm in the next couple of days as it tracks northward, well northeast of Bermuda.

A tropical wave expected to move off the African coast Monday is also being watched, with the NHC placing 7-day odds at 50 percent for eventual development as it moves westward across the tropical Atlantic.
