Daily showers and storms continue through the week, but they do become more isolated heading into next week.

We’re getting a little more sunshine on this Wednesday afternoon, but scattered showers and thunderstorms are around. Where the rain has been most widespread so far today, temperatures are holding into the 70s. Elsewhere, where there is more sunshine, we are climbing toward the mid 80s.

We’ll continue to see a few scattered showers and thunderstorms as we head through the evening and overnight. As it has been with the past few days, nothing is expected to be severe, but some areas may get some heavy downpours and occasional rumbles of thunder overnight. Thursday will be similar to today… mostly cloudy to partly sunny with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms likely. Daytime highs will range from the upper 70s where rain gets going in the morning/midday to the mid 80s for the areas that don’t see as much rain.

Daily elevated rain chances will continue as we head through Friday and the weekend. There won’t be an all day washout, but showers and storms will be likely. As we head into early next week though, a back-door weak cold front comes in from the north and northeast as high pressure at the surface sets up over the Great Lakes. This won’t completely remove rain chances, but it will shunt the deeper tropical moisture to our south and shift us to daily isolated hit or miss thundershowers. Despite that and a shift to more sunshine, the cooler air mass filtering in will keep our highs early next week into the upper 70s and lower 80s with overnight lows sneaking down to the mid to upper 50s as drier air moves in and can cool more efficiently during the overnights.
