St. Paddy’s Weekend forecast: Luck of the Irish is on our side!

After quite a stormy morning across the Tennessee Valley, our weather is about to calm down just in time for the weekend. Many locations in the area observed more than 3 inches of rain since it all began yesterday. Thankfully, the moisture is on its way out. Temperatures will stay in the 60s this afternoon as we deal with a few lingering showers before drying out tonight. Lows tonight will get down into the upper 40s.

This weekend is looking pretty great! Highs Saturday will be in the upper 60s, and we can expect mid 60s for highs on Sunday, which is St. Patrick’s Day. Expect a partly to mostly cloudy sky this weekend, with very minimal rain chances. There is a stray rain chance both days, but most will stay dry through the weekend.

The good news? We will be dry for the first half of next week. The bad news? It’s going to be a little chilly! Highs will only reach the lower 50s on Monday thanks to a brisk northerly wind. At least we will have the sunshine! We will be slightly warmer Tuesday with a mostly sunny sky, but highs remain in the 50s. I also want to bring to your attention, we are expecting lows Monday night to get well below freezing, and we are expecting an area wide freeze Monday night/Tuesday morning.

Overall, we’ve got a relatively quiet 7 day forecast for min-March in the south. A fairly nice weekend is ahead of us, be sure to enjoy the 60 degree weather before it cools down next week! Outdoor plans have the green light from me this weekend and through much of next week. I’m not seeing another decent rain chance until late Thursday/Friday.
