If every first Monday of February could be like this, I’d be thrilled! What a fantastic day with a mostly sunny sky and comfortable temperatures. Upper 60s to lower 70s for this afternoon across the Tennessee Valley. Cloud cover increases tonight with the slightest chance of a few very light passing showers. Expect mostly cloudy skies to start Tuesday with again that small light rain shower chance. Most of us will stay mostly dry for Tuesday. Temperatures Tuesday will reach the upper 60s.

Rain chances are here to stay this week. Scattered thundershowers are likely Wednesday, especially during the afternoon. A cold front will move into the Tennessee Valley Thursday, bringing showers and thunderstorms with it during the afternoon to evening. We do not expect any severe storms. Friday the rain will be mostly cleared out aside from a stray shower or two, depending on where the front stalls out. Clouds will likely hang around as well, and for that reason we will be slightly cooler Friday.

For the first full week of February, there’s not much to complain about! Warm temperatures are here for the week, but of course that comes with the increased rain and thunderstorm chance. Have the rain gear with you this week, but at least you can ditch the layers during the days!
