Pleasant week ahead. Warm to start, more fall-like by the weekend.

This week is looking nothing shy of fantastic for us here in the Tennessee Valley. Minimal rain chances paired with comfortable temperatures- what is there to complain about? Aside from a few spotty showers this afternoon, we will stay mostly dry under a partly cloudy sky. Highs this afternoon will reach the low 80s in southern middle TN, and mid to upper 80s for north Alabama and NE Mississippi. No rain chance overnight under a mostly clear sky, with lows cooling off into the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Aside from a stray shower sneaking into the area Tuesday, our rain chances are pretty much over with for a while. Luckily for the southeast U.S coast, Tropical Storm Imelda is no longer expected to make landfall in the U.S. The SE Atlantic coast will still experience some dangerous surf and accumulate some much needed rain, but we look to avoid more impactful effects of the tropical storm. For us here in the Tennessee Valley, the shift in trajectory means we will be drier and sunnier than expected for the rest of the week. It will be a nice change of pace compared to last week’s multiple rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms.

This week’s weather will be calm and comfortable. A bit on the warm side to start with highs in the mid to upper 80s fort the first half of the week, but by the weekend we will struggle to reach 80 in the afternoon. We are finally easing our way into fall!
