Good Friday morning! We continue to monitor our rain and storms this morning with the threat for some flash flooding. A strong storm or two will still be possible this afternoon and into the overnight hours, but that risk is very low. Most if not all the severe threat today will be off to our south as we just deal with a lot of moderate to heavy rain. IF there is a strong or severe storm, gusty to damaging winds around 40-60mph will be the primary concern although a brief tornado could be possible.
The Flood Watch is in effect for now until tomorrow morning as we should see around 2 inches of rain with isolated areas seeing 3-4 inches possible. With the ongoing drought, the ground won’t be able to soak up any rain that comes down heavy and will lead to some runoff. This could lead to flash flooding, especially in the more flood prone areas. Be careful if you are out and about on area roadways!

Going into the evening and overnight hours tonight, we will see more rain and storms build into the area as the cold front gets closer. While flooding is still the primary concern, a strong storm will remain possible. Have ways to get warnings in case they are needed!

The front will sweep in on Saturday ending the rain and storms and pushing in some much cooler air. Temperatures Saturday morning will likely be in the 60s and then by the evening hours drop into the 40s and 50s. On Sunday, we should see mostly sunny skies and highs in the 40s with a breezy northwesterly wind.
Next week, our temperatures stay chilly with overnight lows in the 20s and 30s and highs in the 40s and 50s. Some showers will be possible Wednesday with a spotty shower or two possible on Thursday as well.

Have a great Friday and Weekend!
