Well, this week truly couldn’t be starting off on a better note in the weather department. How about sunny and 75 for a Monday afternoon? High pressure is in charge of our weather pattern for at least the first half of the week. Today will be pleasant wit plenty of sunshine, and highs in the mid 70s. Lows tonight will cool off into the 40s and 50s under a clear sky.

There really isn’t much to discuss with the forecast until the weekend. Until then, expect temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and no rain chance until late Friday. On Friday, there will be a system to our west bringing the chance for strong to severe storms to parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas. The severe threat is well west of the Tennessee Valley, but we will be watching to see how that system progresses eastward Friday night and into the weekend. Looking at several long-range models, there is not great agreement in anything other than a more active pattern and higher rain chances heading into the weekend for the Tennessee Valley. We are watching closely for the potential for strong to severe storms, we just need a bit more consistency in the data either way to make a more concrete forecast than “we’re watching it.” But rest assured, we ARE watching it!

That being said, whether we see strong storms or just rain, we will be increasing rain chances this weekend regardless. Hopefully it fall as beneficial rain and nothing problematic, because we definitely still need the rain, despite the little we got this past weekend. Keep checking back to the forecast, EXPECT changes and updates to our thoughts for the weekend.
