FINALLY! We take a break from the rain chances for a couple of days. They’re not too far away in the forecast though…

Ding dong, the rain is gone! Well, for the next couple of days it is anyway… After a little morning fog, we’re expecting partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies for your Tuesday. Daytime highs today will climb into the mid to upper 80s, and the humidity will be a touch lower than it has been for the past several days. That, clear skies, and light winds will allow our temperatures to drop down to the low to mid 60s tonight, and we can’t rule out a little more patchy fog after midnight here and there. We’re mostly sunny and warm once again for Wednesday with daytime highs in the mid to upper 80s again, but clouds start to increase overnight Wednesday night as muggy air gradually starts to inch back into the area. Overnight lows will be a couple degrees warmer, into the middle 60s with a few isolated upper 60s here and there over north Alabama.

Rain chances don’t stay away forever though. High pressure shifts to our east by Thursday, and that means increasing clouds and moisture, as well as a return to scattered showers and thunderstorms. From Friday through the weekend, rain chances look to be more widespread… although it will come in off and on waves of showers and thunderstorms. Fortunately, at least for now, we don’t see any obvious signs of a severe storm threat. Daytime highs the next several days will be in the mid to upper 80s. As the muggy air returns late week and the weekend, our overnight lows shift back from the low to mid 60s to something much closer to the lower 70s. It is that time of year though, as we’re making our way through early summer!
