Good morning! I wish I had better news for you…but our weather pattern will remain unsettled for the next several days. Multiple rounds of rain and storms are expected through at least Thursday, with a few dry pockets here and there. Today is no exception, with scattered thunderstorms possible all afternoon and evening. In typical summertime fashion, we can’t tell you when and where exactly. There is no organized severe weather threat today, but as always, we will watch for stronger storms with gusty winds as well as heavy rainfall. Aside from the storms, temps will be in the mid 80s and humidity will be high. Storm chances will begin to decrease after sunset, however a few thundershowers may persist through the early evening hours. Beyond that, the overnight will be mostly dry until we get to Tuesday morning. Low temperatures tonight will get down into the lower 70s while staying quite muggy.

Scattered to widespread thunderstorm activity continues Tuesday, so keep the rain gear around during the morning and afternoon. Like Monday, there is no organized severe weather threat, but we will watch each storm closely like we always do. Flooding will be our main concern in the coming days. Wednesday holds a slightly lower thundershower chance, but keep the rain gear handy. A frontal system will be approaching from the NW, bringing higher t’storm chances by Thursday morning into the afternoon. The timing for Thursday’s system still needs a little work, so stay tuned for updates. While some storms may produce gusty winds here locally Thursday, the better chance for severe storms remains to our NW on Wednesday.

While thunderstorms are virtually a guarantee this week, so is the heat and humidity. Dew points will be in the 70s all week. You’ll also notice warmer temperatures by the weekend. That’s due to lower rain chances! While we still have a few thundershowers in the forecast for the weekend, I think we finally start to settle things down.
