A strong thunderstorm moving east at 20 mph out of Fayetteville is producing wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea-size hail across Lincoln and Lauderdale Counties. Communities including Lynchburg, Huntland, and areas around Tims Ford Lake are in the path of this storm. Tree limbs could come down and minor hail damage to vegetation is possible as this system pushes through the region.

We're still watching the line of strong storms moving eastward across parts of southern Tennessee down through north Alabama. Storms have decreased below severe limits for now, but they are still capable of 40-50 mph wind gusts, localized flooding, and intense lightning. The strongest storms currently stretch from near Lewisburg, TN to near Athens, AL to near Moulton, AL. This will be moving into the Decatur, AL area roughly around 2:30pm and the Huntsville, AL area near or just after 3:00pm.

Behind this line of storms, it's just light to moderate steady rain and occasional rumbles of thunder.

A strong thunderstorm near Tanner, about 7 miles southwest of Athens, is pushing east at 35 miles per hour and heading toward Huntsville, Madison, and Athens. This storm is capable of wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour and penny-size hail, with Decatur, Hartselle, Meridianville, and Hazel Green also in the path.

Flash flooding is ongoing right now across northern Lawrence County, with 1 to 2 inches of rain already on the ground and another 1 to 2 inches still possible from ongoing thunderstorms. Towns including Courtland, Town Creek, Hillsboro, and Wheeler are all in the warned area, where small creeks, streets, and low-lying roads are flooding or expected to flood very soon. If you are in northern Lawrence County, avoid any water over roadways, as conditions are dangerous.

A strong thunderstorm is moving east at 15 mph through Moore and Lincoln Counties, capable of producing wind gusts between 50 and 55 mph along with pea-size hail. Communities including Fayetteville, Petersburg, Lincoln, Dellrose, and Booneville are all in the path of this storm. The radar-indicated threat of damaging winds and hail is the main concern as this cell continues tracking eastward.
