Warm and unsettled as rain chances increase as the week progresses.

Good morning! Temperatures out there in the Tennessee Valley are off to a cold start, but a nice warm up in to the mid to upper 60s is what we can expect for this afternoon. Clouds will be around today after a sunny start. I cannot completely rule out a stray rain shower today or tonight, but most, if not all of us will remain dry. Tonight winds will begin to shift southerly with lows getting down into the upper 40s.

You’ll notice Tuesday will be a bit breezier with gusts from the south up to 20mph, bringing some much warmer air to the Tennessee Valley. Highs Tuesday will reach the mid to upper 70s. Expect a partly cloudy sky with a few showers, especially during the evening. Even so, chances are just isolated to scattered at best on Tuesday. But, our gradual rain chance increase trend continues.

Wednesday features isolated to scattered showers and storms, but I’m leaning more towards thundershowers as opposed to thunderstorm activity here in the Tennessee Valley. Wednesday won’t be a washout, but again, we continue to gradually increase the rain chances.

Thursday and Thursday night holds the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms as temperatures remain in the mid to upper 70s. Otherwise, expect breezy conditions under a partly to mostly cloudy sky, aside from any rain and thunderstorm activity.

Our rain chances this week lead up to a cold from bringing a more widespread chance for showers and thunderstorms by Friday. In terms of any strong to severe storm chances, as of now, things are looking less than impressive. You know the drill, we will keep an eye on it in case anything changes. As of now, it’s just looking like a gloomy day and night, with scattered to widespread rain and general run-of-the-mill thunderstorms. Still, it’s not looking favorable for outdoor plans.

That cold front will knock our temperatures down from the 70s back in to the mid 60s for highs this weekend, but the good news is I think the moisture will be out in time for us to enjoy the outdoors by Saturday afternoon through the rest of the weekend. We aren’t looking at a dramatic temperature drop, but you’ll notice cooler air by the time we get to the weekend.
