Good Monday morning! I hope you had a wonderful weekend- can you believe June is already here? Well, in terms of the weather, it will definitely be feeling like June. This week will feature heat, humidity, and thunderstorm chances. So, a little bit of everything! The good news is we are going to start the week off dry and gradually work our way up in terms of storm chances.
This afternoon will feature a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky, highs in the mid 80sm and just the smallest chance for a stray shower or two to pop up across the area. We should stay dry today. It will be a bit humid today, just get used to that for this week. Tonight features a mostly clear sky with lows in the low to mid 60s. Tuesday is looking dry and mostly sunny, but hot! Highs Tuesday afternoon will reach the upper 80s, potentially pushing 90 in some locations in North Alabama.

As we get deeper into the week, we will notice a slow moving front off to our west that will eventually bring higher rain and storm chances to the region. That could be as early as Wednesday afternoon with a few spotty thundershowers- not a washout by any means. As the stationary front slowly meanders east, our rain chances will increase- as we head into the weekend. Thursday features an isolated thundershower chance as well, with scattered rain and thunderstorms Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Enjoy the dry start to the week across the Tennessee Valley, because this weekend is looking less than favorable for outdoor plans. Rain and storm chances are really going to ramp up as we get to the end of the week. No need to cancel any weekend plans just yet- simply pay attention to the forecast as we adjust and fine tune things!
