Good Thursday morning! After a couple of days with isolated showers and storms, we are looking at a relatively dry day today. Highs will be in the lower 90s for most areas with maybe a mid 90s reading or two across Northwestern Alabama. Skies will be mostly sunny to completely sunny today. This evening, dry conditions continue with lows getting down into the lower and middle 60s.
For Friday, isolated to widely scattered showers and storms are back in the forecast during the afternoon and evening. Some of those Friday night football games could be impacted so keep that in mind. Most places will just remain dry and hot once again with highs in the lower to middle 90s.

Rain chances continue into the weekend and next week, with more scattered activity expected. There is a chance early next week that more numerous to widespread showers and storms are possible so rain chances might have to go up in later forecasts. This is good news for the drought conditions that continue to develop across the area.

The latest drought monitor updated this morning and it does show that Severe Drought area beginning to creep in to parts of our area. A good portion still remains in either abnormally dry or moderate drought conditions. The increasing rain chances coming next week should help to an extent and hopefully things will pan out where some beneficial rainfall occurs.

Have a great Thursday!
