Mostly Dry Weather Today and Tomorrow…Rain and Storms Move in Saturday…

Good Thursday morning! While an isolated shower will be possible today and tomorrow, most places will remain dry and very warm. Highs today are expected to be in the upper 70s and lower 80s with partly cloudy skies. Tomorrow will be even warmer with lower to middle 80s expected. Winds will be breezy at times with gusts around 20-25mph.

As we head into Saturday, our attention turns to a cold front moving in during the afternoon and evening. With the front, a weakening line of showers and storms is expected. The main part of the storm system will be well off to our north which removes any big ingredients for severe storms, which is why we are only in a Marginal Risk (Level 1/5). However, there will be enough instability present that a strong to briefly severe storm will remain possible with the line. The main risk will be strong to damaging winds 40-60mph and perhaps some hail close to quarter size. The risk for a tornado with this setup is extremely low.

The line is expected to move in close to midday Saturday and track east while it continues to weaken. Eventually, this should turn into just a messy area of rain and embedded thunder and lightning as the front begins to stall out.

Next week, periods of showers and storms can be expected with highs in the 70s and 80s. There could be another risk for some stronger storms as we head into Wednesday, but that is TBD at the moment.

Have a great Thursday!
