Comfortable temps for late January. Rain chances increase later this week.

Today is a fantastic late January day across the Tennessee Valley! With comfortable temperatures in the mid 50s this afternoon and plenty of sunshine. It’s a bit breezy out there today as well. Our weather stays nice and calm for just a bit longer until rain moves in Thursday. Tonight, we will have a clear sky overhead with lows in the mid 30s.

Cloud cover will increase Wednesday, along with temperatures. Expect highs in the low 60s! The day will start off mostly sunny before the clouds move in. Wednesday will remain mostly dry, aside from a few light passing showers mainly after midnight to carry us into Thursday morning.

Thursday will feature highs in the lower 60s before cloud cover really thickens up ahead of widespread rain that will move in later in the evening. We may get a rumble of thunder here or there, but this is starting to look more like a simple moderate to heavy rain event Thursday evening and overnight. Good sleeping weather!

Clouds and a few rain showers will linger into Friday afternoon but rain largely moves out by early Friday morning. The good news? After the front moves through Friday, we aren’t going to see any sort of major cooldown. Yes, we will cool off by about 10 degrees, but we’re not looking at another shot of arctic air. This weekend is looking quite pleasant! Yes, a little cooler Saturday but we rebound right back to the 60s by Sunday. Enjoy!
