Good Thursday morning! Numerous showers and storms are expected once again today, however, the best coverage will likely be across Northern Alabama. Some of the storms could be on the strong side with heavy rain, gusty winds around 30-40mph, and frequent lightning. The overall severe risk today is extremely low. With the amount of clouds and rain around, highs will generally be in the mid to upper 80s today. Going into the evening hours, we will continue the risk for a few showers or storms with the better chances overnight being across Northern Alabama. Lows will be in the upper 60s to around 70.

For your Friday, more of the same can be expected with scattered to numerous showers and storms during the afternoon and evening. The severe threat will still remain extremely low. Highs will be in the upper 80s for the most part with some 90-91 degree readings possible.

Going into the weekend and next week, our rain chances will begin to go down some, but not completely gone. Scattered showers and storms are still anticipated both Saturday and Sunday with highs in the lower 90s. Skies will be partly cloudy for the most part. Overnight lows will be in the lower 70s. On Monday, more scattered storms are expected but by Tuesday and Wednesday, the coverage should become more isolated.

With the rising temperatures, our heat index values will also go up starting over the weekend. Heat index values around 98-105 can be anticipated as we get into next week.

Have a great Thursday!
